Our History
Jordans Picture House was established on a three months trial basis by a group of volunteers in 2016 with the aim of providing accessible, affordable community cinema in the heart of our village. In our first season we showed ten films, eight of which were sell-outs. Nearly 500 tickets were sold. Clearly a new "go-to" village event had been created, and there was no turning back!
We are now firmly established as an award-winning properly formed Society with a Constitution and a Committee (see our "People" page) and we offer lifetime membership for a nominal fee (£10) to those who wish to show their support in this way.
High Quality Screenings
Early in 2017 after only a few months of operation we were delighted to receive an award of projection equipment from the BFI (British Film Institute) and this enables us to provide extremely high quality screenings on our 3.5 metre screen, with full surround sound through eight speakers.
